ARCS NEEDS YOUR HELP!

With the beautification project underway, we (ARCS: the Architectural Standards Committee) are wondering what Top O' Topanga used to look like. Info on the 1980's is great; 1970's a treasure; 1960's - The Holy Grail. What color was the Club House? Was there an entry "gate"? How did the pool area look? Did the Library furniture include our meeting chairs? ???

If you have pictures of the "original" park and its environs, we would LOVE to talk to you!

Hidden behind birthday cakes, wedding toasts or bar mitzvah speeches, there are clues to "the way we were."

Top O' Topanga is a local gem and we want to compile the history of its residents and architecture. Be a part of the progress! (We already have one neighbor's wedding pics from 1989!)

If you have photos or stories to share, please contact David Soliz at the office or call him at 818.346.9252

Residents in Malibu, Topanga and Marina areas must cut water use or face higher bills

"Residents are required to use their sprinklers only on Mondays and Thursdays..."

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors today declared a water shortage emergency in Malibu, Topanga Canyon and Marina del Rey, requiring residents to cut water consumption. Residents in those areas must reduce the amount of water they use by 15% or face higher water rates, according to county documents. Households affected by the rules receive their water from the L.A. County Department of Public Works. Customers will get more details in the mail. Officials cited the continued dry conditions and various legal issues that have reduce water supplies. On Monday, the city of Los Angeles began mandatory water conservation restrictions aimed at reducing the city's water use by 15%. Residents are required to use their sprinklers only on Mondays and Thursdays, and customers who don't cut their water use could face higher utility bills. -- Shelby Grad
