The appropriate key is always based on what key people want to sing in. To effectively play with singers, you need at least a few popular keys of harmonicas.
Good luck,

: Bought a 560/20 a few months ago and am teaching myself. Have gone through a couple instruction books about half way. Currently am playing whatever I think of and am trying to get better on playing just one note at a time. Goal is to be able to play along when we go caroling next Christmas. But the 20 seems to be pitched a little high for people to sing along with. It was suggested to me to go to a Hohner 57/120 Echo Tremolo (1st recomendation), or a Hohner 3427/80 Double Sided Comet. What do you think would be better. In the future I would also like to become proficient enough to play with our little church group. TKS, LA
